The ASX code and trading name of Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited, one of the “Big Four” largest banks. Formed in 1951, by the merger of the Bank of Australasia and Union Bank of Australia. ANZ’s history dates back to 1835, when The Bank of Australasia was founded in London. A series of mergers lead to ANZ being the major bank it is today.
