The ASX code of Commonwealth Bank of Australia or CommBank, one of Australia’s “Big Four” largest banks. Founded in 1911 and having dual roles as Australia’s central bank and a commercial bank throughout its existence. In 1959, the Reserve Bank of Australia was established and CBA was left to operate as a commercial bank. Starting in 1991, the bank began privatisation by listing on the ASX.
