Clawback

A provision in commission-based remuneration, where money already paid for services provided must be returned to the lender or employer. For mortgage brokers, most lenders have a clawback policy, whereby if a loan is refinanced or repaid in full within the first 18 – 24 months, all or a portion of the commission paid will be taken back.
