A dwelling that is not newly constructed, but has had the majority of rooms fully renovated. This would normally include re-sheeting of walls with new insulation, a reconfiguration of walls and living spaces. Along with major renovations of kitchen, bathroom and living spaces. For the purposes of the First Home Owners Grant, the house must not have had anyone live in it since the completion of renovations.
Substantially renovated dwellings typically qualify for the FHOG in Queensland, although qualification criteria across states are always subject to change.
